A Combination of Things Means a Lower Electric Bill
by Alan
One thing you can do is if you have an electric hot water heater you can flip the breaker when going on trips or when you don't think you'll be using any hot water for a period of time. This can get to be a pain if the breaker is in a inconvenient place, but there is no reason to heat water if you don't need to. Energy efficient light bulbs are another way but don't plan on buying a new car by replacing some bulbs because that just won't happen. You can also put lights on motion sensors or appliances on timers to reduce unwanted energy consumption. Washing dishes by hand instead of dishwashers and fans in place of air conditioners are a huge help. Last but not least, the easiest thing you can do to keep energy costs down are by remembering to turn lights and TV’s off when you leave a room and during the day, try to use natural sunlight by opening blinds. The combination of these tips and whatever else you can dig up might end up saving you more than you could believe.
