Carpooling, Public Transportation, and Watching Gas Prices

by Jake
(Newport, Shropshire, UK)

I look for a job near where I live, so if i had to, or felt like it, i can just walk to work, saving gas, and as an exercise.

You're supposed to close the windows on freeway, or whenever you're driving +50mph.

Even if you have to turn on the A/C, it saves gas, because the wind resistance slows down the car, using more gas than having the A/C on.

Look for a gas station with low prices, and make that your gas station. Some gas stations will always have lower price than its competitors.

If your car needs to be serviced, or even just for maintenance, try going to your maker's dealer first. They offer honest prices, compare to random auto shops that will charge you for whatever they can.

If you work at a large business, or live near a coworker, then consider carpool. It saves gas and helps the environment. Not to mention extra motivation to make it in work at time.

Looking at public transportation might be a good decision, depending on where you live. Public transportation is usually cheap if you buy a pass for a month, and actually very reliable.
