My favorite thrift store is, luckily, right around the corner from my house. Well, a few blocks around the corner. It's a Goodwill.

I have three children, and I always find very nice clothes there for them. People throw away the nicest stuff! Clothes that look like new, always in their size.

I even discovered that stores donate actually new clothing to Goodwill, and many times I've bought them things that were new with tags.

We also love the book selection, and always find books that seem just what we've been wanting for under .50. We homeschool, so loading up on books for our current unit of study is definitely easy to do at Goodwill.

I'll often drive over there with the kids on a cold winter day and let them choose a video for $1. If the kids save their own money, I usually suggest they check at Goodwill first. My son once found a brand new Lego set for $6 that retailed $49, so he's now a Goodwill convert!
