If It's Yellow...

by Matt

I save on my water bill in a couple of different ways.

When I do laundry I make sure to do full loads only. It is senseless to not completely fill the washer every time you do a load. This is also an energy saver as well.

I also do not always flush the toilet after using the restroom. My philosophy is if its yellow its mellow, if it's brown then it goes down!

Another tip for saving water is to not use the dishwasher quite as much. It's pretty easy to just hand wash a few dishes and it saves a ton of water.

I also have a dehumidifier in my basement. I use the water it collects to water my indoor and outdoor plants.

My last tip is to install a low flow shower head. When I remodeled my bathroom I changed to a low flow shower head and it does help with water consumption.
