Make Your Own Swag and Centrepiece

by Guylaine

The Christmas holiday does not need to send you into stress mode just because you want a pretty and festive house.

The best part about winter is the beauty outside.

Here are some ways to bring that in for pennies on the dollar, and make your house nice for guests and family. To save money on Christmas decorations, here are some ideas:

1) Make your own swag/door hanging by: gathering pinecones from a walk outside. Drying and then spray painting lightly gold. Attach a cluster of 5-6 pinecones to some pretty lengths of ribbon and tie at the top.

2) Make snowflakes to hang in windows or in hallway. Use scrap pieces of white paper. You can find nice instructions online on how to cut them. Hang with white thread.

3) A nice centerpiece can be made of a large glass jar filled with pinecones, small bunches of pine needles, and some pretty ornaments all mixed together.
