My $1 Oak Coffee Table

by Sonja
(Roseberg, Oregon)

My greatest find at a garage sale was a coffee table.

It was "on sale" as the people wanted to close down the sale as it was late afternoon. The people running the sale had everything "on sale" for half price.

The table had a price of $2 and at half price is was $1!

The table was solid oak and didn't have a scratch on it. The people got new furniture and were getting rid of the table.

Having a half price sell the last afternoon of your sale is a great way to get rid of those unwanted items.

It also pays to take phone numbers of people who offer a lower price for an item early in your sale and if it doesn't sell for what you think it should, then you can call them and take their offer. You could also offer to deliver the item.

Electronics sell very well, but be prepared to show your buyers that the items work. When placing your items out for sale, be sure to put your best items where people passing by can see them.

At the end of your driveway by the street is a great place. Be sure to start early as most serious garage sale shoppers get an early start!
