My First Water Bill Was a Shock
by Nikita
When I got my first water bill, however, the feeling was a bit different. I had used about $30 more worth of water than I had thought I was going to. The next month wasn't that much better either. So I decided to try a few things. For starters, while washing dishes, instead of letting the water run out of the faucet while you wash dishes and scrub, find a big pot or pan (preferably one that needs washing anyway) and fill it with warm or hot water. Then, any dirty dishes that you have, you can place in that pot and wash using that same soapy water. Doing this cuts down on your water consumption a LOT over a monthly period, because you're not leaving the faucet running a lot of the time. This is one tip that I'm sure would help out a ton!
