My Tips

Fresh water is one of the most integral resources to the existence of all biological creatures, and yet it is only a fraction of the total water on earth. This means that it is very important to conserve as much fresh water as possible in your daily life to be sure the small resource never runs out.

Money is an obvious motivator for saving water and might be the first place to start if you are new to living green. Saving water will reduce the cost of your bill quite a bit, saving you money (which is important during a recession).

Another reason to conserve water is to be environmentally friendly. Saving water will benefit your entire community, as well as the animals and ecosystems that exist in the wild (in rivers or lakes).

If there are hose pipe or sprinkler bans, you may keep your garden alive by filling water bottles or kitchenware with the water from your sink and only pouring on the plants that need it. This prevents excess water from sinking into the dirt.

Other water saving ideas include using water purifiers that you can fill up and put in the fridge or put special faucet adapters on your sinks and showers.

These reduce the amount of water put out by faucets, down to what you only really need.
