Start Saving on December 26 and Don't Spend Your Pennies

by Alex

I have found the best way to start saving on Christmas is to start saving from December 26 to the next Christmas holiday season.

I found several years ago what I think is a fantastic way to save for Christmas.

Of course more and more people go shopping for Christmas the days after this Christmas.

Great idea, but I would dare say there are many 'broke' Santas on the days after.

How do I save? Well, every Sunday I grab all the grocery store coupon papers that I can. I go through the papers clipping for my week's grocery shopping. When I go to the market, I go to a double coupon store.

So, if I am armed with $10.00 in coupons and I use them all I'll save $20.00. Every week my coupon savings amount gets put away and I don't touch it for love or money!

Usually I have been able to save between $600.00 and $800.00 for the holiday.

I also have another way to save but it is kind of difficult if you have small children.

The other way is that I'll never spend my change all year.

I just put it all in banks, no matter how small the amount, everyday. My kid is grown up so it's easier to do because kids can keep you wiped clean of change!!
