Thrift Store Finds - thrifters looove to brag about the fantastic hauls we come home with from second hand stores.

And why not? Thrift store shopping is smart, and fun.

The Cheap Living Gazette staffers (all one of us!) are keen thrift shoppers. Take the thrill of the hunt, combine it with a love of quality, add a dash of penny-pinchyness, and you have a thrift addict.

A solid Lane maple coffee table with pretty inlays: $15 SAD Thrift store (Society for Animals in Distress)
A pretty refurbished sewing table with drawers (now a tv stand). $30 St Vincent de Paul thrift store
3 x authentic Inuit/Eskimo parkas (at various thrift stores). $10-20 a piece
Dozens of vintage Christmas ornaments - $10 tops for all of them, from various visits. Salvation Army Thrift store
A chocolate brown suede Gucci hand bag - 15 pounds, Trinity Hospice Shop (now defunct), Upper Richmond Road, Putney, London UK
A vintage red wool Missoni sweater dress. 5 pounds, Trinity Hospice, Putney
An amber Czech glass vase with pansy detailing. $2 SAD shop, (worth $250! Gloat, gloat).
Two mission-style lamps. SAD Shop, $15 for the pair
Numerous retro/vintage table clothes and napkins - $0.25-3.00
Vintage cotton pillowcases with embroidery $0.25-1.00
Two solid wood dressers - Value Village, Sudbury, ON - $15-20 each.
Numerous vintage wool and cotton blankets - various thrift shops $2-$3 each. We can never resist a nice satin binding.
A heavy turquoise/chinoiserie pattern eiderdown quilt, double size. $4.00 Vincent de Paul.
An assortment of designer throw pillows. Various thrifts $1.00 each
A growing assortment of Pyrex bowls and casseroles - no more than $1-$4 each, various thrifts
Vintage/retro planters, vases, and brick a brac $0.25-$5.00
Oil paintings, some seriously nice, some kitchy. $2-$3
Other people's craft projects; quilts, wooden bowls, etchings, wall hangings. $0.25-$3.00
Kitchenalia - plates, utensils, coffee pots, a toaster/convection oven, a Le Creuset casserole $0.25-$15.00
