Two Desks from Habitat for Humanity Restore

by H Helfrich

My husband and I had just moved into a new apartment that was much bigger than our first. We had everything set-up except for our second bedroom.

We wanted to make it an office/workroom for all our crafts. After searching the internet, Walmart, Target and all the other local shops, we had decided we would have to spend at least $100 a piece for a good desk, and we wanted two!

So we had given up hope but decided to stop by the Habitat for Humanity Restore. We walked the entire building in awe of all the household goods, but thought there would be no way we would find anything.

The last aisle we walked down, there was a nice looking desk. I thought it would be out of our price range, we walked up and they had marked it down from $50 to $25!! We didn’t need to talk about it, we walked up to the register and bought it immediately!

While trying to take it apart, an employee walked by and said that we didn’t have to do that, they had a stack of them in the back that weren’t put together.

We decided that one just wasn’t enough at that price and ended up buying two more! We now have fully furnished our office and got an extra table for our living room! It’s close to one of our best buys to date!!
