Yard Sales Dos and Don'ts
by Sandy
Furniture at great prices is always nice to find. I also like to find clothes for my ten year old son. He plays outside and is growing quickly, so finding used clothing that is in great shape and at a great price is always nice. Plus, I don't have to constantly be on his case about keeping these clothes clean. Sometimes I find art that is one of a kind at a great price. My son likes to find collectibles at rummage sales such as the little cars and cards. I think that hosts of garage sales should be willing to bargain a little, but I don't expect to get things for free. I have seen some customers and some hosts unwilling to compromise. Also, sometimes there are people who try to show up at a rummage sale hours early. I think this is very rude. I think it is nice when rummage sales also sell refreshments, but I don't expect them to. Signs that help direct me toward the address are very helpful, so are ads that accurately state what they are offering for sale. Please don't say you have stuff in good condition when you don't. also don't like when people try to sell clothes with stains all over them, scattered messily all over a table. Please fold and organize. I don't want to spend an hour digging. There are other sales I want to go to. Also, don't try to sell socks or underwear.
